Not my normal post, but please spread this around!! I live fairly close to the fires and I know that is bad and how frightened they are! I lost my house in a fire once and the experience was traumatic. So if you, or someone you know lives in the area of the Paradise, or Malibu fires, please do this or share it if you don’t!

I can’t believe this dog is skipping 😂😂😭😭

@why-animals-do-the-thing i just want to make sure the dog isn’t being harmed, caused it has happened before, but is this dog okay?

100% okay. This is really obviously a trained behavior (looks like a simultaneous “hold” cue for the umbrella and then the “skipping” cue) and I’m such a fan of it. Where’s the Singing in the Rain soundtrack when you need it?

It appears this sailor got a bit too carried away (literally)! Velella velella, or by-the-wind-sailors, drift across the open seas using their chitinous “sails,” which poke above the water’s surface. Despite their free-floating existence, it is not uncommon to find large numbers of Velella velella washed ashore, especially during a bloom. This by-the-wind-sailor jelly was found off the shores of Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary and Olympic National Park.
