My half of an art trade with @bonelessnerd . I was charged with making the toxicroak line resemble poison dart frogs more as well as give them a third evolution.
I’m a fan of croagunk and toxicroak’s designs so I didn’t change much besides their colors. I tried to make their markings sort of resemble a kickboxing ensemble as a more showy form of fighting would suit their colorful appearance. I also removed toxicroaks knuckle spike and saved them for the final evo.
The final evo was inspired by purple haze from jjba, as were the knuckle bulbs on toxicroak. I could have carried the harlequinn look further, as boneless suggested that going for a more clown look for the line would personally be interesting, but by then I was already done with these guys. I might revisit that idea later!
