Yeah as soon as I saw that clownish AAVE shit in the previews I checked out. Like good on Asian-Americans for finally getting their shine but once again it comes at the expense of shitting on Black people. Also this prose is shitty and cringey as hell.

Mr. Hill, a 30-year-old African-American, was fatally shot by a white sheriff’s deputy who had responded to a noise complaint about music Mr. Hill had been playing in his garage. Toxicology reports showed Mr. Hill was drunk at the time. And after a brief encounter with the deputies, he was discovered dead inside the garage with a gun in his back pocket; the deputies said he had been holding it during their confrontation, though that claim is in dispute. Mr. Hill had been shot three times by one of the deputies, Christopher Newman.
Among other things, a federal jury hearing a wrongful-death lawsuit brought by Mr. Hill’s family was asked to decide whether his constitutional rights had been violated and whether his estate should be awarded damages. How much, jurors were asked, were the pain and suffering of Mr. Hill’s three children worth?
Last week, the jurors delivered their verdict. Deputy Newman had not used excessive force, they concluded, but the St. Lucie County sheriff, Ken Mascara, had been ever so slightly negligent given Deputy Newman’s actions. The jury awarded $4 in damages: $1 for funeral expenses and $1 for each child’s loss.
Because jurors also found that the sheriff’s office was only 1 percent at fault in the death, that award was reduced to four cents. And furthermore, because jurors found that Mr. Hill was intoxicated and mostly to blame for the shooting, a lawyer for his family said Tuesday that a judge would reduce the four-cent award to nothing.
“I don’t get it,” the family lawyer, John M. Phillips, said.
A GoFundMe was set up for the family here. The fact that the meager $4 was reduced to 4 cents only illustrates how little they seem to think a human life is worth. When the police can take in armed white terrorists alive but kill a black man over a noise complaint, it only hammers home the message that it’s dangerous to be a person of color in the United States.
No matter what she says, that was no joke. Particularly not when Betsy DeVos has made it clear that she fully intends to accelerate the school-to-prison pipeline to incarcerate black children en masse. And Ms. Swearingen is very obviously, FULLY aware of what would likely happen to a black child if she made that false report to the police. Shanna Swearingen’s “joke” was barely more than a veiled death threat to special needs black children.
This was not just another racist educator, but a school principal. I feel sorry for the black children under her “supervision”. She obviously doesn’t think much of them, nor does she care about their safety.

I remember when that picture was taken they claimed every Black person that expressed concern for what they they were teaching those kids just didn’t understand they were teaching the kids to live “fearlessly” And all I could think was how scared that boy looked & not in a “Learning to swim in deep water” way, but actual terror. Probably none of you know that yesterday (or today) 5 march a senegalese man, Idy Diene, was killed in Florence by an italian man who planned on killing himself and instead ended up shooting a “random guy” in the streets.

According to the police and other official voices there is no racial motive in the murder because it was an act by a “mad man with no affiliation with the far right”, even if i fail to see how a man who wanted to kill himself could ended up up shooting at a black man passing by totally randomly.
Florence’s senegalese community and their allies marched today through the city protesting and asking to meet the mayor, who refused his presence and later tweeted this
[translation: the murder of Idy Diene (he spelled the name wrong) by the hands of a mad man hit all Florence. We understand the pain of the senegalese commynity but the violent protest of this evening is unacceptable. The violents, wherever they come from, must be brought to justice]
Every person who took part in the march today can cornfirm it was a peceful one, far too peaceful considering a black man has been killed in cold blood by a white italian, right after the elections in wich the xenophobic and racist right wing won, and the only damages were done to a couple of public flowerpots
The press and the mayor and the centrists are comparing the brutal murder of a black man to a couple of broken pots, calling his brothers who are weeping and who are scared and who seeks only for solidarity violent rioters who should be brought to justice.
For the press is more important to talk about the violent Senegalese community and the riots in the centre of Florence than the death of Idy.
To make everything worse, Idy was a relative of another senegalese man who died, always in Florence, in 2011 killed by an italian neofascist Gianluca Casseri.
Even if Idy’s murderer didn’t have actual affiliations with Casapound, Forza Nuova or Lega Nord we as italians cannot turn our heads and ignore the wave of fear and racism this elections are bringing with them. Italy is in a bad place right now and the first who pay for this are men and women of color. We cannot sympathize more with fucking flowerpots than with the death of a black man. We cannot call all the murderes that weight on our shoulders the actions of a mad man.
Tell me again how Europe is so much more progressive than American and how racism is not a thing here.

Im with all of this besides the “my blackness comes before my other characteristics” part there’s no possible way to exist in a vaccum where you’re only affected by your race during situations like this intersectionality is a must in all social movements or it’s just continuing oppression just on different groups
